Mrs. Cynthia Hiltbold Hampton, aged 79 years, widow of the late Philetus Hampton, who died about 40 years ago, died Monday morning [July 29, 1912] at 2:30 o'clock at the home of her son, Mr. M. L. Hampton, on Grant street, after several years of poor health.
Her five children survive hre [sic]—M. L. Hampton, W. E. Hampton and Mrs. John Miller, of Wellsboro; S. A. Hampton, of Corning, and Mrs. A. L. Waltz, of Williamsport, besides one brother, Mr. S. A. Hiltbold, of Wellsboro.
Mrs. Hampton was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church and was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon [July 30, 1912] at two o'clock, at the home of M. L. Hampton on Grant street; interment was made in the Wellsboro cemetery.
