Mrs. C.D. Wheeler

Mrs. Elizabeth (Lee) Wheeler, 83, 21 Prescott St., wife of Charles D. Wheeler, died at the Veterans Memorial Hospital Wednesday night [Dec. 8, 1971] after a long illness.

Born in Warren, Mass., she had resided in Meriden most of her life. Mrs. Wheeler was a parishioner of St. Rose Church and a member of the Guild of Our Lady of that church. She was also a member of the Meriden Council of Catholic Women.

Besides her husband, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nelson J. Wells, with whom she lived; two grandsons, Gary J. Wells, Southington, and Charles Wells, Meriden; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Saturday [Dec. 11, 1971] at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St. and at 10 at St. Rose Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. C.D. Wheeler

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth (Lee) Wheeler, of 21 Prescott Street, wife of Charles D. Wheeler, was held Saturday [Dec. 11, 1971] at 9:15 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, and at 10 at St. Rose Church. Rev. Thomas E. McCarthy celebrated the Mass.

A delegation from the Guild of Our Lady formed an honor guard and was present for the Mass. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Fr. McCarthy officiating.

Pallbearers were Gary and Charles Wells, grandsons of Mrs. Wheeler, George Treiber, James Reynolds, William Green, William Ulbrich, Jr., and George Dorr.
