PETIT THIEVES AT A CANDY STORE

YOUNG REPROBATES FINISH THE LOSS COMMENCED BY A FIRE LAST WEEK.

As a Result W. S. Donaldson, Owner of the Candy Store, is the Loser of $50 Worth of Goods.

W. S. Donaldson, owner of the candy store which was burned out last Friday [i.e., Wednesday] night [Dec. 9, 1903], sustained an additional loss Sunday night [Dec. 13, 1903] through petit thieves. Mr. Donaldson only discovered the loss today [Dec. 16, 1903] but the time of the thefts was easily traceable to Sunday night.

It seems at that time that several small boys broke into a window at the rear of the store and stole about $20 worth of chewing gum and $25 worth of candy. The result was that when the insurance companies settled Mr. Donaldson was cut out of that amount. He is removing the remains of the debris from the burned store today. The police are working on the case and will no doubt arrest the offenders.
